Essential context you need before the tests
Every jump has two muscle phases: eccentric contraction — the lowering/bending moment, where the muscle lengthens under load (like bending your knees before a jump) — followed by concentric contraction — the upward push, where the muscle shortens and produces the force that lifts you off the ground. The difference between tests (SJ, CMJ, ABK...) comes down to these two phases: some isolate the push alone (no dip), while others measure how well you use the stored energy from a fast eccentric dip.

Most important: recording specs
Record at 240 frames per second (240fps) and 720p HD. This gives enough precision to pinpoint the exact takeoff and landing frame.

AI analysis or manual marking?
The tool offers both AI-powered frame analysis and manual marking. Manual marking is the easiest, fastest, and most accurate. In short: you mark the frame the foot leaves the ground and the frame it returns, and jump height is calculated automatically from the flight time between them.

How to identify the takeoff frame
The takeoff moment is the first frame where the foot is fully off the ground.

How to identify the landing frame
The landing moment is the first frame where the front of the foot settles on the ground.

Drop Jump and Depth Jump tests
These tests need one extra step: first mark the moment of ground contact (right after stepping off the box), then takeoff and landing the same way as above — since the real start is on top of the box, not the ground.

Camera angle
For manual marking: film from behind at a low angle, level with the feet (as shown). For AI analysis: the full body must be visible in frame.

Measuring leg length (for the athlete profile)
Measured as a straight line from the hip bone (ASIS) to the medial ankle (medial malleolus).

Setting up a speed test
Pick a wide-open area long enough for your phone's camera to capture the full distance. Mark the distance with external tools (a tape measure, cones, or ground markers) at 5m, 10m, 15m, and 20m — this lets the tool compute acceleration, speed consistency, and total elapsed time.
